On September 4, the 2024 National Short-Process Electric Furnace Steelmaking Industry Development Symposium, hosted by the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, co-hosted by the Metallurgical Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, the International Exchange and Cooperation Center for Metallurgy Industry, the Steel Research Institute Co., Ltd., the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce for Metallurgy, Metallurgical Industry Press Co., Ltd., the China Association of Scrap Steel Utilization, and Hunan Jiujiu Intelligent Environmental Protection Co., Ltd., was held in Shanghai.

There were over 250 participants and more than 150 participating companies at this conference. Leaders, experts, and scholars from related enterprises, institutions, and research institutes along the upstream and downstream of the electric furnace steel industry gathered together to discuss the future development direction of the electric furnace steel industry.

The vice secretary-general of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, vice president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's Metallurgical Industry Branch, Su Changyong, the secretary-general of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce's Metallurgical Industry Branch, Jia Yinshuang, the general manager of the Steel Research Institute Co., Ltd., Liang Jianxiong, the director of the Green and Intelligent Technology Center of China Steel Research Institute Technology Group Co., Shang Guangqin, the executive vice president and secretary-general of the China Association of Scrap Iron and Steel, Feng Helin, the professor at Beijing University of Science and Technology, Wei Guangsheng, the director of the Special Steel Metallurgy Institute of Northeastern University, Jiang Zhouhua, the director of the Metallurgical Process Research Institute of the Steel Research Institute Co., Ltd., Yang Yong, and the vice secretary-general of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade's Metallurgical Industry Branch, Su BuXin, etc., industry experts, made themed presentations in turn.

Liu Liming, chairman of Jiujiu Intelligent Environmental Protection, delivered a speech on "Demonstration Case of Ultra-low Emission Transformation for Electric Furnace Enterprises," sharing with the attendees the key technologies such as digital twin, AI visual dust analysis and recognition, and intelligent identification of industrial environments developed by the company, as well as the integrated solution for emission control and treatment, and the core products of enterprise carbon management intelligent platform. He shared the case of ultra-low emission transformation for short-process steel mills, and discussed with the industry experts, scholars, and industry customers the topic of ultra-low emission transformation for short-process steel mills, jointly promoting the high-quality development of the electric furnace steelmaking industry.
